Joe Watson grew up in Syracuse, NY. He was drafted in the 10th round by the San Diego Padres, for their second CF. His first game was against the Montreal Expos for a scrimmage, going 0-1, with a FO. His first rookie game was against the Pittsburgh Pirates, going 2-2 with a single, and a HR. In his first plate appearance in the MLR, he gets a single and advancing Izuku to third, allowing RBIs to be knocked in later in the game. In his next at bat in the bottom of the 4th, despite having a hernia he hits a dinger, off of center fielder Johns. This ended his first game with the stat line of 1.000/1.000/2.500, 1 HR, 1 R, 2 RBI. With this hot streak going he earned himself hitting the lead off spot in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
