Oliver Yu (born ???) is a Japanese professional fake baseball pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Redditball. He was signed as a free agent from Japan following Session 1 of the 2017 season by the Philadelphia Phillies, and made his debut in Session 2 of the 2017 season. Yu got national attention when he beat start pitcher Big Tuna in a pitching duel in Session 4 of the 2017 season

2017 Season[edit | edit source]

Oliver Yu's debut wasn't ideal, as he handed the Phillies their first loss of the season. He gave up 3 runs in 3 innings pitched. In his second game, Yu gave up a run in the first inning versus the Detroit Tigers, though would go scoreless through the rest of the game and get his first career win.

Oliver Yu would run into a lot of the same problems as Cy Hadd, especially when he started games. He received the loss in the game versus the Toronto Blue Jays in Session 6, taking both of the Phillies losses in their inaugural season.
