Ross Fire (6/30/1996), known also as Big Ross, is an American professional fake baseball shortstop for the Texas Rangers of Major League Redditball. Fire was selected with the 106th selection the 10th round of the 2017 MLR Inaugural Draft. Considered a depth selection at the time, Fire worked his way into the Opening Day Lineup and is best known for hitting a Grand Slam in his 3rd game against the Baltimore Orioles. Prior to the 2017 MLR Expansion Draft, Fire was traded to the Texas Rangers by the Philadelphia Phillies for three draft picks.

2017 Season[edit | edit source]

Despite being a tenth round selection, Fire got the Opening Day start against Minnesota and batted second. He got his first hit off against then Twin pitcher Sonny Streaker in a 1-3 effort. In Session 2, against Kansas City, Fire was demoted to 6th in the lineup and went 1-2 in a game the Phillies lost. Session 3 against Baltimore was Fire's real coming out party, however. With the Phils down 4-2 bottom of the third and the bases loaded, Ross went deep off of Rob Pancakes for his first homer of the year. The Phillies would win the game 9-4, making them MLR's highest scoring team, and Fire was named one of the players of the game after a 3-3 game with 3 runs and 4 RBI's. After the game, reporter Kian Davies had Fire going 6th to the Orioles in the first re-draft of the year, a whole 100 spots ahead of his initial selection. After his offensive outpour in Session 3, Fire was promoted to the No.1 spot in the lineup for Session 4 against the 3-0 Tigers and went 1-3 in another Phillies win.
